What is a Down Under Box?

With the Down Under Box, we wanted to make it easy to create a special gift and unique gift for an Aussie overseas full of their favourite snacks delivered anywhere in the world.Ā Established in 2015, we are the original international Aussie gift box and have been making Aussies feel a little less homesick for over 6 years!

With our help, you can send a piece of home to your long distance love, your friend studying abroad, your colleague working on secondment or your child exploring the world. Without breaking the bank and without all the hassle.

How do I order a gift box?

Ordering a Down Under Box is simple! The first step is to select a box from our range of premade box options or alternatively build your own box.

Once you have selected your box you will be able to add a note and photo as well as some extra gifts and goodies.

Once you are happy with your selection you will enter the checkout process, we will ask for the recipients delivery details first and then you will be presented with the available shipping options. We offerĀ FREEĀ worldwide deliveryĀ (a small number of countries are currently excluded due to changes with Australia Post), we also have a door to door courier service for speedy delivery!

Once you have selected your shipping method you will be prompted to enter your payment details, payment can be made by credit card (all major cards accepted), PayPal or Afterpay.

How much will it cost?

We have a range of gift boxes available starting at as little as $75, head over to our box selection pageĀ to view the range! Where can I send a box?

We offer shipping solutions to almost every country in the world, from time to time we need to suspend shipments to certain destinations due to local regulatory changes, however, this is a rare occurrence.

Can I personalise my gift?

Yes definitely! All of our boxes come with the option of adding a note and professionally printed photo for $5.

The note and photo will be presented in a cardboard frame that can be cherished long after the treats are all gone!

What is the cost of delivery?

We offer multiple local and international shipping options

International Economy - FREE

Our economy international shipping is free anywhere in the world (some countries are excluded from time to time due to postage restrictions). Each box weighs between 1 and 2kg and we have worked with our shipping provider to get the price as low as possible.

International Express Courier

We offer a premium door to door courier service using DHL Express, the cost of this service is calculated at checkout during the shipping option selection process. Transit times are typically 2-5 business days to major metro areas.

Local Standard Postage

We offer standard postage using Australia Post for all local Australian orders, the cost of this service is calculated at checkout during the shipping option selection process. Transit times are typically 2-5 business days to all metro areas.

Local Express Postage

We offer express postage using Australia Post for all local Australian orders, the cost of this service is calculated at checkout during the shipping option selection process. Transit times are typically 1-3 business days to all metro areas.

All shipments are tracked and you will receive your tracking number via email after the order is dispatched.

How long does delivery take?

Transit times will depend on the destination and service selected.

International Economy - Free Shipping
International economy shipments are currently taking between 2 - 5 weeks to arrive due to a limited number of cargo aircraft flying in and out of Australia.

International Express Courier
Transit times with our door to door courier DHL Express are typically between 2-5 business days (to metro areas).

Local Standard Postage
Transit times are typically 2-5 business days to all metro areas.

Local Express Postage
Transit times are typically 1-3 business days to all metro areas.

All shipments are tracked and you will receive your tracking number via email after the order is dispatched.

Do I have to deal with customs issues?

We will handle any requirements regarding customs and the import process, if you or the recipient have received a notification from a local customs authority please contact us athelp@downunderbox.com.auso we can assist you.

Can I track my delivery?

All of our shipping options have door to door tracking, once the order has been collected from our warehouse you will receive an email with tracking information.

Issues With An Order

I need to change my note/photo

Due to the volume of orders that we process we cannot guarantee that a note/photo can be edited.

If you have already received an email confirming that your order has shipped it is unfortunately too late to make any changes.

If you have not yet received an email confirming your order has shipped you may fill in the following form. This is still not a guarantee that it will be added or edited - your order may have already been packed and picked up by our courier. You will need to resubmit the entire form (you cannot just change what was already submitted), make sure you include the note and photo in this new form.

I need to change the address of an order

Due to the volume of orders that we process we cannot guarantee that an address can be updated before it is picked up by our couriers.

If you have already received an email confirming that your order has shipped it is unfortunately too late to make any changes.

If you have not yet received an email confirming your order has shipped you may fill in the following form. This is still not a guarantee that it will be added or edited - your order may have already been packed and picked up by our courier.

I am having trouble tracking my order

With our economy shipping service, it is normal for there to be a gap of a few business days between the package leaving Australia and being scanned in at the destination country. Packages will not update over the weekend.

Please refer to our shipping guide for rough timeframes, but generally if you are within a few business days of the expected delivery date and there have been no updates it is a good idea to reach out to us so we can check on your delivery.
